Sahadev,
Namaste and warm greetings
Thank you for the wonderful experience in Nepal. Following is a summary statement about our trip:
Our trek to Everest Base Camp with Himalaya Travel Adventures was an adventure to remember. From our arrival in the Kathmandu airport to our departure eighteen days later, we were well taken care of virtually every step of the way. The Everest Base Camp trek exposed us to the great mountains of the Everest area. We passed through many small villages and lush forests along the Dudh Koshi river valley, up into the incredible mountains of the Himalaya and onward to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patar at 18,100 feet. It is difficult to find words to adequately describe the magnificence of the great mountains and valleys of the Everest area. The tea houses where we stopped for the nights and for lunches during the day provided good, hot food and enough warmth from the yak dung fueled, steel stoves in the middle of the tea room/dining room. The tea rooms offered opportunities to meet and talk to trekkers from all over the world. We were careful to drink bottled water and well cooked food so we had no stomach problems throughout the trip.
We benefited from the years of experience skill of our guide, Kul, who accommodated our pace and interests. Kul was a constant source of knowledge about the mountains, trekking in all areas of Nepal and the culture and heritage of the Nepali people. Our porter, Shamir, was always upbeat and seemed unfazed by the 90+ pound load he carried every step of the way.
While in Katmandu for 2 ½ days after our trek, we were accompanied by Sahadev Rana Magar, managing director of HTA and second generation Himalaya and international mountain guide. Sahadev took us to amazing and memorable sites in Katmandu including the cultural City of Bhaktapur, the great Buddha Stupa, Shree Boudhanath, the Patan area and museum, and several other important cultural sites in the City. Himalaya Travel Adventures went beyond our expectations to ensure that our EBC trek and our visit to Katmandu were memorable, safe and enriching experiences.
I will send photos in a separate email.
